The Podcast Academy recently announced the nominees for its fifth annual Awards for Excellence in Audio: The Ambies. Hosted by comedian Tig Notaro, the ceremony is set to take place in Chicago next month, where 199 nominees across 28 categories will be celebrated for their excellence in podcasting.
The coveted Podcast of the Year category includes a diverse mix of storytelling genres, including the following nominees:
- 99% Invisible: Not Built For This
- Beyond All Repair
- Cement City
- Dragon Age: Vows & Vengeance
- Empire City: The Untold Origin Story of the NYPD
- Faraway
- Fire Escape
- Hot White Heist 2
- Hysterical
- Throughline
Among the nominees, Hot White Heist 2 leads with four nominations, including in the Best Comedy and Best Fiction categories.
In addition to established categories like Best Business, Best Comedy, Best Personal Growth, and Best Politics or Opinion, the 2025 Ambies have also introduced a new Spanish Language Narrative category, highlighting the global growth of the podcasting community.
