Mzansi’s Biggest Podcasts land their own TV Shows

Mzansi’s biggest podcasts have landed their own TV shows! As of 10 April 2025, eight of South Africa’s most influential podcast hosts and digital content creators will be partnering with DStv channels Mzansi Magic and Mzansi Wethu for more than just a new TV show lineup, but a new movement in entertainment.

“This is a revolution, a bold step into the future where linear television meets the gutsy, unfiltered world of digital storytelling,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director for M-Net’s Local Entertainment Channels. “These creators have redefined entertainment, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the traditional TV space to help shape the future of viewing.”

Mzansi’s biggest podcasts making it to TV screens also points to the growing popularity of podcasts, their ability to transcend different platforms, as well as the undeniable talent of local creators who are increasingly turning to podcasting as their chosen medium.

DStv’s new line-up of shows promises to captivate South African audiences with diverse, high-energy content that dives into everything from celebrity news and dating confessions to deep cultural discussions.
