1. Winners Announced at British Podcast Awards 2025
This week the 2025 British Podcast Awards took place at The O2 in London, with comedian Maisie Adam hosting. The top honor, Podcast of the Year, went to Kill List, which also won Best True Crime Podcast, praised for its in-depth reporting.
31 category awards were handed out, from arts and health to kids and lifestyle. Some big wins from the evening included:

2. RØDE Opens 2025 Creator of the Year Awards
RØDE has launched its 2025 Creator of the Year Awards, offering creators the chance to win from a prize pool of US$200,000, along with major hardware and production bundles. The awards include three major prizes, including “Creator of the Year” and “Emerging Creator”, as well as 15 Spotlight Awards. Entry is open until 30 October – what are you waiting for?!
3. HERA Launches UK’s First Female-Founded Podcast Network
Founded by Rosie Allimonos, Nishma Patel Robb, and Kirsty Hunter — former leaders at the BBC, Google, and Unilever — HERA has launched as the UK’s first female-founded video podcast network. The platform aims to amplify women’s voices with original shows, AI tools, and its new membership program, HERA Club. You can read more about it here.
4. Candiace Dillard Bassett & Michael Arceneaux Launch Undomesticated
This week reality star Candiace Dillard Bassett and author Michael Arceneaux debuted their new weekly podcast Undomesticated. The pair will discuss pop culture, viral moments, music and more – you can find it on all major platforms.
5. Black Podcasting Awards Go Live in 2025
After five years online, the Black Podcasting Awards will return in-person on 17 October at Baltimore’s Black Box Theater, as part of the 7th annual Afros & Audio Podcast Festival weekend. With 71 podcasts nominated across 43 categories, the event marks a big milestone for celebrating Black voices in podcasting – grab your tickets here!
