1. Podfest Naija Celebrates African Storytelling in Lagos
This past week saw Podfest Naija take place. Hosted on 10 October 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria, the event brought together storytellers, tech innovators, creators and brands to celebrate and elevate African content, by African people.
2. Steven Bartlett’s Flightcast takes off
The Diary Of A CEO host, Steven Bartlett has launched Flightcast, a new platform simplifying video podcast distribution and analytics. Built with a former MrBeast engineer, it lets creators upload once and track performance across YouTube, Spotify, and more — read all about it here.
3. Global acquires The Fellas Studios
UK media company Global has bought The Fellas Studios, home to shows like Saving Grace. The move brings the creator-led network under Global’s new Global Studios banner, expanding its footprint in podcasting and digital content.
4. Alex Cooper launches Unwell Creative
Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper is branching out with Unwell Creative, an ad agency under her Unwell brand. The agency will craft campaigns and live activations aimed at Gen Z women — with Google already signed as its first major client!
5. SXSW Sydney 2025 Goes All-In on Podcasting
From 13-19 October 2025, SXSW Sydney 2025 will feature a major podcasting showcase across two dedicated stages. From the business and infrastructure of podcasting, to the creativity and storytelling power of audio – you can find out everything you need to know about the jam-packed event here.
