1. Independent Podcast Awards 2025 Shortlist

The shortlist for the UK’s Independent Podcast Awards 2025 dropped this week. Categories include Arts & Culture, True Crime, Fiction, Comedy, and more, with winners set to be announced at a live ceremony on 15 October at Kings Place, London. 2. Now Open: 30th Annual Webby Awards

Earlier this year, we saw the Webby Awards take place (find the full recap here), and this week entries for the 30th Annual Webby Awards opened! Celebrating the best of digital creativity across sites, podcasts, apps, AI, and more, Webby 30 promises to honor creators pushing the envelope of online content.

3. Sony Music’s Podcast Academy in London

Calling all emerging podcasters in London: Sony Music Podcast Academy 2025 is now accepting applications for its free, in‑person programme. Running from 6 October over six weeks, the Academy invites 18‑30 year‑olds (no podcasting experience necessary!) to develop skills, receive hands‑on training, access industry‑standard equipment, and get mentored toward building a career in podcasting. 4. iHeartRadio Music Festival 2025 kicks-off this weekend 

The 2025 iHeartRadio Music Festival, presented by Capital One, returns this weekend at the T‑Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. For fans unable to attend in person, the festival is also being broadcast live across 150+ iHeartMedia radio markets, and streamed exclusively on Hulu – find out everything you need to know here.
