1. Ambies Awards Nominations Announced
The Podcast Academy revealed the nominees for the 2025 Ambies – its prestigious Awards for Excellence in Audio. Hosted by comedian Tig Notaro, the ceremony will take place next month in Chicago. This year’s nominees include a diverse range of shows, from the highly popular 99% Invisible to Hot White Heist 2 (which leads with four nominations!) 2. New Podcast Set to Drop: Timeline with LaConco
Award-winning TV presenter and producer, Nonkanyiso Conco – better known as LaConco – announced that she’ll be adding the title podcaster to that list. Her new podcast, Timeline with LaConco, is set to release its first episode soon. Sharing personal stories and engaging in conversations around women’s empowerment, LaConco’s new show promises to engage and entertain its listeners – you can read more about it here.
3. Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards Nominations Announced
The 2025 Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards nominations were also recently announced, and we’re excited to see several podcasters in the running for top honours. Names like Khabane Moloi, Danielle Du Plessis, Tshireletso Phasha, Mpho Popps, and Tsitsi Chiumya all received nominations, proving once again that podcasting is a growing space for comedic talent.
