The International Women’s Podcast Awards took place on Wednesday, 19th of June, 2024 and the winners are spectacular. Honouring women on a global scale within the podcasting industry, the International Women’s Podcast Awards were amazing.
- Cruising: A queer documentary podcast won The Moment of Visionary Leadership Award.
- The Sharing Plate podcast went home with the Moment of Touching Honesty Award.
- The Girlfriends swooped up the Moment of Raw Emotion award.

2. Afripods and Dear Daughter Podcast Join Hands For Workshop
Afripods have partnered with the Dear Daughter Podcast of The BBC World Service to bring you two amazing, free, and virtual workshops that you won’t want to miss!
The first workshop is all about creating an award-winning podcast, while the second is about narrative storytelling. Whether you’re brand new to the podcasting scene or simply want to take your podcast to the next level, these are the workshops to attend!
The workshops will be taking place on the 1st and 8th of July 2024.
3. ‘This Coal Life’ wins One World Media Award
The One World Media Awards took place on Wednesday, the 19th of June, 2024. One of the winners of the night is the South African podcast, This Coal Life by Dhashen Moodley, which won The Podcast and Radio Award.

4. Robot Boii Wins at the 2024 Top16 YOBAs
The Top 16 Youth-owned Brand Awards took place on Saturday, 22 June 2024. The YOBAs is a platform dedicated to celebrating South Africa’s youth of today that have established their own brands and continue to build it to bigger and better heights every single day.
Social media sensation, dancer, artist and former co-host of the Popcorn & Cheese podcast, Robot Boii, walked away with the Top Personalities and Influencers Brand Award and the Overall Top Brand Award at this year’s Top 16 YOBAs.

5. The South African Podcast Awards submissions are open
The South African Podcast Guild is bringing to you the 1st annual South African Podcast Awards and entries are now open.
