1. Afripods ‘Behind The Mic’ Series Continues
The new season of the ‘Behind The Mic’ series hosted by Afripods is underway and new episodes are on the horizon!
Insightful conversations are held (virtually) with some of the nominated podcasters for the upcoming APVA awards as we count down the days to the ceremony.
The 3rd and 4th episodes will be taking place on the 2nd and 4th of September respectively on X spaces at 6pm SAST.
Various podcasters will be part of the conversation, so head over to Afripods and/or APVA‘s social media pages for the full schedule.
2. The BTSAS Announce 2024 Nominees
The South African Behind The Scenes Awards (BTSAS) have announced the nominees for its inaugural award ceremony. The awards aim to celebrate those people behind the scenes that bring the content in front of our screens to life.
The podcasts nominated for Most Captivating Podcast are:

- The Venting Podcast with Gogo Skhotheni
- King David Studio
- L-tido Podcast
- Open Chats Podcast

3. Youth+ Radio Announces Podquest 2024
Upcoming podcasters based in Kenya have an amazing opportunity on their hands!
Youth+ Radio is hosting Podquest 2024, which is a competition to find the next best thing in the Kenyan podcasting industry.
Requirements include being between the ages of 18 and 35 years old and being a maximum of 3 in a team.
Submissions are now open and will close on Friday, September 13th.

2. MacG Announces New Book
Founder and co-host of the Podcast and Chill Network, MacG, has announced that he will be releasing a book.
The book will not only tell MacG’s life story and the podcast’s journey, but it is also aimed to “give all upcoming broadcasters and podcasters a clear understanding of [their] network and [their] founder.”
The book is titled ‘Uncancelable. The Incredible Rise of MacG.’
Pre-orders are sold out, but the official release of the book will be released in October 2024.
3. New Gen Awards Announces 2024 Nominees
The Annual New Generation Awards are coming up, and the nominees for this year have been announced!
The awards aim to celebrate ‘Corporates, Agencies & Top Creatives for Innovative Campaign Marketing & Best Results.’
